// The talks

Six sessions, no filler

Who Told You That?01

Every student is running an operating system someone else installed. A session on where our beliefs about ourselves actually come from — and what Scripture says instead.

Doubt Isn't the Enemy02

Doubt handled in the dark grows. Doubt brought into the light gets answered. Permission to ask the real questions, and a framework for working through them.

You Are Not Your Feed03

Identity, comparison, and the exhausting work of maintaining a version of yourself online. What it means that God knows the unedited one.

The Cost of Following04

Jesus never soft-sold discipleship to teenagers or anyone else. A hard, hopeful look at what He actually asks — and why it's worth it.

Friends Who Sharpen05

Most students will become whoever they sit next to. A practical session on choosing friends, being one, and surviving the group chat.

Suffering You Didn't Cause06

Divorce, diagnosis, loss, anxiety. Where God is when the thing wrecking your life isn't your fault, and what the cross has to do with it.

// Who you're getting

Jake Morris is the students pastor at Village Church RVA. Richmond born, M.Div. in theology, and years of Wednesday nights that taught him the difference between a room that's entertained and a room that's actually listening.

He doesn't do the youth-pastor voice. He preaches the text, tells the truth about how hard it is out there, and gives students something sturdier than a feeling to stand on.
