This course surveys the New Testament Epistles, completing the canon begun in Survey of New Testament I. Students will engage with the letters of Paul from Romans through Philemon as well as Hebrews, James, 1–2 Peter, and Jude, with attention to their historical occasion, theological argument, and enduring relevance for the church today. Special attention is given to Pauline theology, the unity of apostolic teaching across the epistolary corpus, and the application of that teaching to personal life, family, the local church, and pastoral ministry.
