This Sunday, May 31, Village Church will continue to have 3 services at under 50% capacity at the Midlothian campus. Service times are 8 am, 9:30 am, and 11 am.
There will be no Village Kids programming at this time, and all ages are encouraged to attend with their families. The chairs in the auditorium are spread out with lots of extra room, and families with young kids can sit together in a section.
We need your RSVP to make sure we stay below our desired capacity. We anticipate having enough RSVPs to accommodate everyone who would like to attend, but your cooperation will help us make sure to also have room for any guests should they wish to visit.
During this time, we ask that you are extra cautious about not attending services if you are feeling any sickness.
If you do not feel comfortable attending an in-person service at this time, we want you to know that is OK, and we will be live streaming services at 9:30 am and 11 am. We understand there are those within our church family who are at higher-risk, and we want to give lots of grace as we move back to in-person services.
We are going to do our very best to limit the amount of physical contact at our worship services during this time. Some things will change for the time being, and here are a few things you’ll notice:
There will be additional cleaning throughout the building before, during and after services.
We will still have people to greet you when you arrive at Village Church, but our Welcome Team will not be shaking hands or hugging.
To keep us at our 50% capacity limit, there will be more space between the chairs in the auditorium. We also ask you that you leave space between non-family members when seating.
At this time there will not be coffee or water served at our services. This is an important way to limit contact, so please plan to bring your own coffee or water if desired.
During the services we will not have physical handouts or be passing the giving baskets. Boxes will be available for giving at the back of the room as the service ends.
Communion will be served in a pre-packaged, single-serve option that minimizes contact.
In order to move people safely in and out of the building, we need to ask that you exit the building quickly after the end of the 8 am and 9:30 am services. Likewise, please do not arrive sooner than 15 minutes before the 9:30 am and 11 am services. We thank you in advance for your understanding and help in this area.
You’ll notice that our services are a little shorter than what is typical. This is to accommodate moving people in and out of the building while staying at under 50% occupancy.
One thing we are going to require for the time being is that you RSVP for the service you are going to attend. This will allow us to track our attendance trends and make sure we are sticking to the 50% capacity.
If you call Village Church home, we NEED you to RSVP. Understand that by doing this you will help us do the best we can to have room for guests if they arrive without an RSVP, which is something we’re hopeful we can accommodate. Your RSVPing helps us accomplish our shared mission as Village Church.
We need you to RSVP for every person attending in the auditorium.
There will be a check-in station at the tent in front of the building so that we can track the number of people using their RSVPs and entering the building.
We’re looking forward to worshiping in person this Sunday, Village! If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Executive Pastor, Nate Schlomann (nate@villagechurchrva.com).
See you Sunday!
