This course provides an overview of the poetic, wisdom, and prophetic books of the Old Testament, examining their historical settings, literary features, theological themes, and enduring significance. Students will explore the nature of wisdom in books like Job and Proverbs, the poetic expression of worship and suffering in Psalms and Lamentations, and the prophetic calls to covenant faithfulness from Isaiah to Malachi. Emphasis is placed on understanding how these writings reveal the character of God, address the realities of human experience, and anticipate the fulfillment of God’s redemptive purposes.
